HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Revive Ministries received 250 pounds of hamburger for its annual “Recovery in the Park” event that takes place in July. But with the event canceled due to COVID-19, the staff had all this meat on their hands.

They decided to take the donations for the event and pay them forward.

They plan to turn over the beef donation to the Hastings Food Pantry on Friday.

“So we have decided to pay it forward and make sure that donation goes to a good, needy cause and I don’t know of a better cause than the Hastings Adams County Food Pantry because I know they give a lot of needy folks food on a daily basis,” said Dan Rutt, director of Revive Ministries, Hastings.

As always the food pantry is in need of specific items and donations so a donation of this size will be able to help a lot of people and be paired with some non-perishable items.

Rutt said they just want to let the community know that we want to pay it forward and make sure to be good stewards of the gives people give them.

Revive Ministries has already started planning for next year’s “Recovery in the Park” event.
